Do you have the 1 7/8's? How much does re-coating cost?

Ok, I'm gonna throw in my .02. This is based from my experience..

DO NOT GET THE SLP'S!!! I just installed them on a guys car, and they are a PITA to install. They come so close to the o2 wires, that you have to wrap the hell out of the wires, & hope for the best. They do hang very low, due to the weird *** shape. They do sound good, as any header will.

I have the grotts on my current car. They went in easy enough. The coating is crap.. The power is great! They do hang a little (on a lowered car), but not bad, & no where near as much as the SLP.

I had FLP's on my 00 SS. They fit like a glove. I gained clearance. The finish is great, the sound was great (all headers sound better than stock). The Y pipe did hit under the drivers side (so do the SLP's) but nothing a little rubber cant fix. The down side to these headers are that you have to buy the Y pipe & cat kit. You can't just get the headers.

If you get headers, get a custom Y pipe done up. Way cheaper & better fit. Dynotech (are FLP's without emissions) would be my choice if you are deleting the emissions. They would fit just as good as the FLP's. You can get them without the Y-pipe crap.

Today, I would go with the Hookers. Easy to get. You can get a hell of a deal on them, if you shop around. I haven't heard any bad things about them.

Dont be worried about the stainless steel issue (the SLP's are heavy as hell!). All of them are going to be covered with a coating, so what the hell. Go with Jet Hot coating, & you have a lifetime waranty. If it were me, I would get best coating that they have, which I believe is available in black only, but keeps the heat down better, (up to 2000).

Just my opinion, good luck.

What about the TTS headers? They look pretty good but I don't hear much mention of them?
