Hopefully it wont be as hard to get it back in. We used a little oil on the rubber, pushed it in a little, used some grips to push it in on the shoulder while I was pushing from the top, wasn't to hard to get it back in.

Good luck.

If the tube is jacked up, you can get a new one from the stealership for like $12 bux or something, just to make sure it goes back in nice. I think they had one in stock after i broke mine.

Like i said before, i dab a little grease on mine before i reinstall them.

Just wait. Dealerships usually get parts in quickly. They get loads of crap in every day and usually have it trucked in from surrounding area dealerships.

Even though it is not pressurized, you will most likely have **** flying out all over your headers and it would make a huge mess.

Wait for the new one.

Or if the old one is not damaged at the base, maybe you could pinch closed the opening in the tube and reinstall it as a plug. Then install the new one at a later time.

Thats actually a good idea but there is no way mine will go back in. Lets just say I had a little fun with it after it took me longer to remove that then the rest of the exhaust. Thanks for the info and I'm going take your guys advice and wait for the new one.

Strange mine came right out. Getting it back in will make you think about pulling the starter. I should have since I didn't disconnect the battery I got some sparkys when I touched it with the dipstick tube. Scared the **** out of me!

Mine is like the f'n sword in the stone as well. I tried tieing a power chord to the base of it and pulling up on the chord with the assistance of a jack and all it did was rip the chord. ugh. For some reason I thought the chord would hold. I'm gonna try the visegrips.

Try getting it to spin in the hole a bit. Not sure if there's something special you need to do with LT1's, but you just have to call down the wrath of god on some of the LS1 tubes and PULLLLLLLLLLLLL.

I'm a big guy (6 ft 245lbs) and strong and I couldn't pull mine out. Ended up using vise grips against the block and levered it out but bent the crap out of the tube.
