The car will run fine, but you'll get a little more out of them once the car is tuned. If you tune right away, I'd forget o2 sims, b/c the rears can be turned off in the pcm when tuning. You only need o2 sims if you don't want to stare at the SES light.

So O2 sims are just for the SES light? No damage to the engine is there aren't any o2 sims?

Right, all the rear 02's do is tell the pcm if your cats are working effeciently, jujst delete the code out while tuning. It will have no performance effect. I have pacesetters and they work great. IMO, headers are headers, there is not really a superior design out there to justify the huge prices that some are going for.

Also, if you don't use o2 sims or delete the rear o2s in the pcm, you'll have a SES light before long, and you won't know if something else is acting up because the light will already have been triggered and staying on because of the rear o2s.

Since I disconnected the battery, it ran like *** for about 15 mins (had to relearn the idle) I've had them on about a month and a half, the car runs fine (the occasional SES light for slow switching, when it's cold out) other than that it runs like a raped ape

Yes, as long as the SES light doesn't bother you (won't affect performance, but I didn't want to look at it)

Just put on Pacesetters, ORY and Borla catback today. Sounds awesome and fitment was perfect. Did the !egr !air and sims till I get the tune. Everything went in like butter didn't have to modify or take off anything. The car ran like we didn't even touch it. Well, except it was alot louder I say if you are not gonna do stainless headers the only way to go is Pacesetter.

I've got painted pacesetters. The paint will burn off in a week and
they'll rust in 4 to 6 no matter what. I bought them for funtion not
looks. If you got an extra $100 get coated pacesetters.

Whats the word on these Comp Hooker LTs? I might try them out. I wonder if they would fit with the TSP ORY.

I got a 01 Z28. Im thinking about the TSP deal with the catted pipe. Is it correct all I will need to get besides headers and y-pipe are the o2 extensions and the o2 sims? We have to go through emissions testing here and I want it to be legal all the way but still be badass. sorry....

I hear of a lot of people swapping their pacesetters out for the new edelbrock victor series headers. I've got the edelbrock v-series on mine and love them. And they are cheaper than pacesetters...at least they were when I bought mine.

I took the advise of the posting crew and went with the Pacesetter LT's (coated) and the TSP catted Y pipe. Texas SPeed Performance had a sale for $700 for the Headers and Catted Y and o2 extensions for $19.95(X2). The cats were magnaflow which worked well because my catback is also Magnaflow.
I believe that when you mod your car sufficiently enough you should get it tuned anyway to get the most out of what you have installed. I have used the poor mans solution to tune which is the Jet performance programmer (there are others)that has 3 stages of programming. Some people like this solution others don't. I have been very pleased with this solution for now but I am getting ready to take the car to a professional tuner when it gets back in my hands after the headers and Catted Y are installed.
You and your car are worth it if your goin to do it right!!!

Not to hi-jack, but it still kills me to see $400 "budget" headers. I'm used to seeing $250ish for most street machines
