sure! less weight and mess in the front end, and you get rid of the annoying noise.

long as you have no problems with inspection

You will get more HP because you can block off the ports where the air is injected into the header. That way the headers can scavange better. I felt a difference when I did it. Also idled better.

If you delete the EGR on LS1Edit, how do you get it back? If you do delete it, do you have to setup block off plates to get the extra hp from it?

I have removed EGR and AIR from my car.

EGR: you need 2 blockoff plates. One on the header, one on the intake manifold. I cut mine out of 1/4" aluminum. Sealed with Permatex Copper. Works great. The whole EGR thing is in a box in my garage. The wires are hanging free.

AIR: Same deal. 2 blockoff plates. ONLY remove AIR if you have no cats.

You will not notice any "power" by removing these pieces. Their power drain is very, very minimal.

I took off that crap..air pump..all of it.You get lights they don't affect performance at all.I doubt you gain much if anything really..probably not measureable maybe 1 or 2 hp if you have car with egr sticking down into intake.I have ls6 intake now with no egr.You can drive the car around no problems with these things blocked off and removed.Dont' need ls1 edit. The egr system in these cars is a pos!! A stupid retarded design and a vacuum leak waiting to happen...lots of guys find the o ring falls off and goes into the engine.and the air pump only runs for like a minute so don't see how it can hurt the cats not to have one..cars never use to have air pumps..it emissions crapola..!! get rid of it..mines all in a box..no inspections so far here.

On my stock exhaust manifolds there were three connections for that crap plus the one that goes in the intake. When i got headers there were two connections on them. I blocked off those connections and plugged the hole in the intake manifold. Did I miss anything? What was that third one? It went in lower down on the passenger side manifold. Was that the air connection? I think its still hanging there. Would that be a bad thing?

I took the metal hoses that connected to the original exhaust manifolds, cut them off, smashed the end flat, and bent them over. Then just connected them to the header. Cheap easy blockoff and it doesnt leak.

I removed my AIR stuff yesterday. Less weight, no nasty sound at startup, less junk under the hood, and no SES lights for me. Great mod, IMO.

You could make a block off plate rather easy right? Just drill 2 holes through a piece of metal using a gasket to trace the holes.

f.y.i the egr sucks exhaust out of the manifold and puts it in the intake at part throttle to build up pressure and it supposidly helps gas mileage, the main restriction caused by it is the tube sticking down in the intake so i would keep it but the air is not needed.
