What is the difference between a trottle body with two throttle cables, and a throttle body with one throttle cable?

Yep, if you have traction control you'll only have the throttle cable at the tb since cruise is integrated into the tcs module. If you don't have traction control you'll have a throttle cable and a cruise cable at the tb.

I have one cable on my throttle body, but how come I don't have a switch like in my buddys car to turn of TCS. Does this mean I dont have traction control, or I just can't turn it off and on.

Ok, look at this picture. See the black "thingy" right above the battery with the 3 cables running to it? That's the traction control module. If you have one of these, you have traction control. If you don't have the module, you don't have traction control. (Thanks for the pic 2SSlow!)

a prev. owner could have for some reason removed the cruise cable. or maybe you had TCS and it was removed and the owner swapped to the throttle cable for non TCS but didn't get the cable or box/module for cruise without TCS. not sure what the RPO code for TCS is. that would be the easy way to check what you orginally had.
