Best Sounding Exhaust System
By my ears a "Loudmouth" is too loud, thus for a basically stock SS (no cam and no headers) would a Corsa or Borla system sound better than my SLP Dual Duals??
Any sites where I could catch some sound clips on either??
Thanks for your suggestions and comments.
Doug
Don't know where you could get sound bites from, i think corsa has samples, but i am sticking by my Borla. I got a cat-back from MTI, all stainless steel, and adjustable. I have the largest plate installed, so it lets the most bypass without being wide open. Sounds wicked at wot, but nice and resaonable around town. On interstate, with a 6 speed, it is not loud at all. I love it.

I agree, I love my Borla. He pretty much summed it up. I will be going true dual soon though because I want it to be louder and have more power.
For the Corsa system, you can hear their sound bytes at www.corsaperf.com.
Personally, I prefer the GMMG system!

Then to top off the great sound, it is inexpensive. Mine cost $140 including parts, shipping, and professional installation!
The mod is not as loud as a cut-out or the LM, but sounds alot better than stock of course. It has a deep rumble at idle, not very loud till about 3000 rpm. After 3k rpms it growls something mean, still at a reasonable volume. Then at WOT it just screams! I'm talking a seriously racy scream. I can't honestly say there is no drone, but it is as close as you can get to no drone on our cars and still have a nice sounding system. It is so slight that you do not hear it unless you are thinking about it.
I have a sound clip in my sig titled "Dynomouth Exhaust".
Good luck
Dave
I like loud just like anyone else, but at idle I don't want it sounding like a BBC with zoomies. At WOT throttle though, I want an battle cry that's loud and second to none. That's why I chose ATR. Mine was one of the first ATR's on an F-Body in the country way back in '98 and I get more compliments on the sound of it. At idle it has a deep, rumbly, and most importantly MELLOW tone. NOT raspy, NO "box of rocks" sound (like a Borla), NO Flowmaster rap...just a smooth, mellow, vibrating/bassy tone. But like I said previously, at WOT throttle it makes noise.
Here are a plethora of sound files I have from it;

There are a couple there with my truck doing bad things But the rest are the Camaro.

IMO I think the 4 inch mufflex with the flowmaster muffler sounds the best I will be buying that system after I get my cam in.

Don't waste your money on that turd of a muffler.
They sound good and that is about it. People have actually lost power over stock mufflers with those. I've had two in 2 different cars and they were a piece.

The mufflex system comes with either a Spintech muffler or a flowmaster muffler the flowmaster sounds the best out of the 2 and makes good power from what I have seen.
