Default oil cooler

im putting a 6.0 from an escalade into a 73 formula and i still have the oil cooler lines from the pan to the radiator. is it worth it to run the lines to an external cooler (like a tranny cooler), or just install the f body pan bypass? i live in dallas (hot summers) and it will be a daily driver. if so would the cooler in summit with the built in thermostat and fan be a good idea?(fan on at 160) no towing just concerned with engine life (will use mobil1) thanx guys

I would hook it up to one of the thermostatic coolers
(trans coolers) that bypass when cold and cool when
hot. That way you'll still warm up fast and boil out the
junk, but have the benefits of cooling.

I thought trucks ran the cooler lines from up on the
block by the filter?
