The works manship on these headers is second to none they are perfect as far as welds and fab work goes. It will take me a little while to get them installed as I am waiting on a true dual exhaust and I still need O2 extenstions and sims plus these headers come with no hardware or gaskets. Iwill probably reuse the stock bolts if possible and go to GM and get a new set of Stainless gaskets.

I'm glad to see someone with the gonadulars to take a gamble on these... I've seen them on eBay for awhile now, just been too broke to get anything for the car.

I was gonna say the same thing. Those look VERY similar to my Pacesetter LT's. Those look really nice & look to have a decent flange also.

it doesnt look like you will need o2 extensions, seeing that the bungs are on the "inside"... just a thought, i could be wrong

i just bought the same ones off ebay for my 6.0. they fit great and only take about half hour to install since my motor was already out of the car. sound good to. i don't have a y pipe since i have tsp true duals.

I've been waiting for awhile now for someone with lots of tech cred to buy these.

Anyway you can tell if the flanges are stainless too? I read on another forum that ssautochrome headers dont have stainless flanges, but then again I'm not even sure how people know these are from ss autochrome.

At first, the 5/16" flange made me wonder, but then I remembered that stainless has a gazillion times higher yield strength than regular steel.

I did some research and they use 321 stainless compared to Kooks and QTP with 304 stainless.

321 has Titanium added to the composition and a greater heat range up to 900 Cel. I know exhaust doesnt get up there but it is used to fabricate jet engine exhaust manifolds according to some articles.

I see what you mean now, but I doubt anyone will buy these for any reason other than price.

321 should be less magnetic than 304, right? If someone had a pair of kooks or qtps and a pair of these they might be able to tell if they truly are a higher grade of stainless by using a magnet.

From what I understand stainless should not be very magnetic at all, I could be wrong someone please tell me if I am. Check this out:

I can understand that QTP's are more because of the velocity spike, HFMC, polishing, and simply the name. But I really want someone to get these on a car.
