01 vette vs 02 camaro A friend of mine just bought a 01 vette. I have an 02 Z28. Both have LS1's, but is there difference between the motors, or does chevy just rate them differently? Also how fast are they? (the 01 vette's) He just got it today, so I haven't seen it run yet, I'm just curious how badly he would beat me. Both cars are M6's, and stock.

Re: 01 vette vs 02 camaro Yeah ive been wondering about this too, whats the difference between the camaro Ls1 year 01-02 compared to the Corvette 01? Is it just the high flow exhaust and lighter weight? I thought the engine was built a little different like something to deal with the cams.

Re: 01 vette vs 02 camaro No difference as far as engine.GM just gives the Vette higher HP rating to keep F body cars from competing with their flagship vehicle.Get some exhaust,better air intake,etc. and it will come down to the driver.

Re: 01 vette vs 02 camaro If you drive it like you stole it, you'll probably win. I've beaten Vettes from a stop and a roll everytime. Stock for stock I think your more efficient rear end favors you, but I agree with the others in that "driver" will play the biggest part of the race. Although, If you hit the twisties, stock for stock, you will get owned.
