They don't fit under the cowl... too tall.

How tall is t tall? Could you remove a center peice f that plastic drip rail to make t fit or trim the ledge off the cowl

The truck intakes are gemerally about 3"-3.5" taller than the LS1/6 intake. Trimming the drip rail may help; but I am afraid you would need to modify the actual cowl sheetmetal. That would mean modifying the windshield to fit also.
It might not need all of that; but that is what I think will happen.

But if you were to add the truck intake would it be worth the time and effort that it would take to do the modifications. what are the pros and cons???

I've done no dyno testing on it or anything, but just looking at the design of the truck intake reminds me a little of the early TPI intakes (85-92). The tuned, long runner design will tend to boost low rpm torque at the expense of high rpm power. With a stock cam it might put out some GREAT torque numbers and pull like a banshee thru the midrange, but as you add cam duration and need rpm to take advantage of it, I think the truck manifold would start to hurt your power output.
Might be fun to play with if you can get some decent sized injectors for it. The flow rate of the stock injectors leaves a little to be desired! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

This is all based solely on "looking" at it.

The "word" is that it is a far better intake for the LS-1, but it wouldn't fit the F-body or Vette so we got a "compromise" intake.
That comes from GMHTP if I remember correctly...
I would love to see someone try to fit it.
