Ya the first time it takes a while. But hell we pull them off in about 2 1/2 hrs now. Maybe less if we really get on it.

You'd hate doing them on an LT1 or a mustang then! LS1's are probably one of the easiest installs...

It gets easier with time. I got it down to an hour after taking them on and off numerous time for various reasons.

Taking my sweet *** time i got my LT1 long tubes installed in 2 days, most of the time i was chasing bolts i lost like an idiot. It was all basic stuff nothing crazy. Only bolt that was hard to work with was the last bolt on the back of the passenger header (had to cut a box wrench in half and get at it from the bottom of the car). This install included a y pipe and catback install. Maybe working a couple hours a day. Again very leisurly as i have other cars to drive. People get too worked up and give themselves too short a schedule to get stuff done. Take it easy take some breaks and HAVE FUN with it dont make it a job and you will love doing any mod on these cars.

I look forward to adding long tubes to my new 99 SS.

Try changing the oil sender with a ghetto tool set.

well, it took me 5hrs to do my headers. If you dont have a lift, then you will have more trouble as you have to get the car really high. Next time, it'll be easier. Dont worry.

Like said above, if you think putting headers on an LSx car is hard, you've never put a set on a 96 Cobra.

What in the hell took so long?

a 4.6L is a total *** whipping! You don't want to install headers on the GT's!
