DON,T!!!!!!!!!!!!! only use delco's or ngk's in a LS1. Bosch plats do nothing but cause problems in anything they get put in. Seen it a million times.

Waaaaaaaaayyyy back when Bosch Platinums came out - like '84 or '85 - I tried them and I had problems too in my 15th Ann. TA as I actually melted the electrodes.

BUT, fast forward to modern times - I put in the Bosch Platinum+4's as I thought this is the best design to date and so I had to give them a second chance.

AWESOME - very pleased to say the least and by far the best design available and these have been in my car for about 2 1/2 years and 17,000 miles. I changed my original plugs after receiving a brand new GMAF that was calibrated wrong. Installed blue Taylor wires as well.

The Bosch Platinum+4 plugs are also supposed to be worth 1 HP per cylinder. So about 8 HP in our applications. Before anyone shakes their head, do you remember "indexing plugs" - no, well I do and any old school tuners do and know why - the need for this is eliminated by the +4 plug while providing the same results.

Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed. Good luck!

They`ve worked just fine for me too, recently pulled them out after 10K miles and they still look great so they`re staying.

I had nothing but a shity idle with the plus 4's but I've heard others praise them. I guess it's like many other mods on the LS1, you just won't know how your car will react to them until you try them.

I have the platinum 2's, they've worked fine so far. They seem to have less tendency to knock than the TR55's I used to have (but more than TR6's). They're a little cheaper than the +4's.

I will say this with experience as a professional mechanic.....All Bosch spark plugs are trash and should not be installed in ANY engine. I have seen MANY different problems with Bosch plugs, including melted electrodes, broken insulators(INSIDE the engine), and some brand new plugs that CAUSED mis-fires. Seems like when a car comes in with a driveability problem, Bosch plugs are the problem 95% of the time. And as far as "indexing" goes...yes it does work on regular plugs, but not when you have 4 electrodes shrouding the spark. The point of indexing is to provide an unobstructed path for the air/fuel mix to reach the spark.

I can't say anything about NGK's because I've never used them, but they seem to be the plug of choice for internet LS1 gurus. My vote goes for AC Delco plugs in any GM product, they may be stock, but they have NEVER let me down in any GM application.

I've been using the NGK IX55 plugs for 2 years now without complaint. (IX = Irridium) By the way the stock plug in LS1's is a Nippon Denso Platinum plug not an AC Delco. NGK's do seem to be the best peforming plug in the LS1. JMHO <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

well everybody,I installed the NGK TR55's.after installing the new plugs,I started my camaro and noticed that the were up about 400 rpm's. after the car ran for a couple of minutes the rpm's droped back down to where it normaly is at.[1000] rpm's.I did not test drive the car yet.torward the end of the plug installation I was having problems with spinal injury, and had a hard time standing. So if the weather/medical problems is not to bad I'm looking forward to taking it for a test drive.I also noticed the acceleration was much crisper, and back at the exhaust tips it seamed to have a cleaner/smoother sound.I would like to take this time to thank everybody for taking the time to help me.see ya ed f
