Default Best Catback with LTs and ORY

Ok after driving today i realized that the rasp from the loudmouth with my hooker set up to it just sucks. Awesome product if you got manifolds but after that. But i am wondering what are people using for a cat back to get good sound and power. Mainly power and then have a normal sound with it. Hows the GMMG sounding, or how about the borla. Any suggestions.

Would you sell your Loudmouth if you go with something else? I heard a Transam with the Borla and it sounded amazing. Very nice clean, I have heard good things about the GMMG also. I have a stock catback with a flowmaster muffler, and ORP and hooker headers and it sounds like ****. Like pure rattle, I think something in the muffler is loose.

I have an ATR stainless and love the sound with the hooker headers. Nice deep sound and no rasp. Muffler is a straight thru design so very little if any back pressure.

Speed Inc. thought it sounded great as well. FWIW

Mufflex systems are rated pretty highly from their "followers". Same with GMMG (but so is pretty much anything...) I say Mufflex, GMMG or Corsa would be my way of going. Mufflex is a tad quiet, and GMMG screams @ WOT just like Corsa does (quiet @ idle).

I would say Borla. You can make it quiet when you want, or loud as hell, or in between. Very nice when you have LT's and orp. Get an electric cutoff valve and you can adjust it while you're driving. I love my setup, suprised a few people with it. A stock C5 pulled next to me on the highway Monday and wanted to race (finally a C5 that was game). The valve was closed, he probably couldn't hear my car. When we nailed it I flipped it open. He probably shi* his pants lol. Pulled him, too

Funny you should ask, I just put my GMMG on yesterday. I ran a cutout before and was tired of the drone and rasp coming from the side of my car. I got the GMMG because I heard it on a few of the Berger cars, it was the best sounding (and I have heard all of them) hands down. Everyone told me its one of the loudest, but I'll tell you its quiet. And next to my LT1 its sounds like a stiff breeze. Don't get me wrong it sounds awesome, but without headers, or no cats, not enough. I am getting Hooker LT's next week, and it will sound perfect! You can't go wrong with GMMG. The next best sounding is the dynomouth IMHO, my friends has it on his SS. It was $70 including the bullet, he welded the bullet where the muffler goes, and a straight 3" pipe out the left. Sounds awesome! Hooker Catback sounds pretty good with Headers too.

hooker cat-back

sounds great without cats no rasp

i love starting my car early in the morning while its cold cause its louder when the engine is cold.
sounds meaner than the biggest, baddest dog in town and sounds good while doing it.

very pleased with the way my hooker cat-back sounds with no cats. hooker lts are going to be done soon as i get the time and money.

No matter what anyone tells you... If you don't have cats, you will never totally get rid of "rasp"!

I agree with Cody though! The Hooker cat-back will give you that deep throaty sound when you put your foot into it, but at cruising speed you can actually have a conversation with someone. It is one of the better cat-backs as far as having minimal rasp. To help combat rasp, you can install a bullit muffler($35) in the I-pipe. It helped me!

btw... I'm running Hooker LTs, ORY, and Cat-back!

Well I'll add my opinion here. I would say GMMG all the way though, not just because I have one. I'm one of those loyal followers. I have heard the Borla with SLP long tubes and I didn't like that very much. Today when I was at the dyno, I was able to hear a GMMG car with the long tubes on it and let me tell you, I almost got in my car and drove the 700 miles home to get my long tubes and put them on. It sounds amazing, but it is loud, and at WOT it is very loud. Its all about personaly opinion though.

i like my corsa w/ longtubes...i do have cats though, but still, i dont get any rasp, and i dont know how much if any you would get w/ out cats if u get corsa...its a nice rumble at idle, yet not loud at all...but when it reaches 4k rpm, it SCREAMS...if u ever hear lt's w/ corsa, its sounds unbelieveable imo...
