Default Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauges.... ?

I'm wanting to get an aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge (dont trust the stocker), but I have a few questions (sorry if this doesnt belong here, not sure where else it would go)

1. Electrical or Mechanical ? I think electrical is probably better ??

2. Do aftermarket gauges come with new sending units (more accurate?) or is that not an issue ?

3. Will I need to pull the intake to replace the sending unit if the answer to 2 is yes? ?

Thanks guys

If your car already has the oil pressure gauge, I would run an oil temp gauge instead; best to utilize both if you have the opportunity.

I'm just don't trust the stock one too much right now, it seems to be fluttering around alot and seems pretty inaccurate.

I hear ya, I hear ya, just a thought, how about changing out stock gauge with a good aftermarket one in the stock location. It'd be fascinating to know if the two can be still used.

I think people tap into the thing right above where the fuel filter screws onto. This might be for turbo oiling though..... lol

My oil pressure went nuts before I put the cam in with the new ported and shimmed pump. Used to sit at 25psi at warm idle, now it sits on 40psi+ no matter what. Slams over to 65-70psi at WOT, and this is with 118k miles on the car.

I did a writeup on shimming the pump recently.

Check it out (post #6).
