What Mods Should I Do First?
then?

The loudmouth is LOUD, it's not my style so I don't have it but a SS vs. a Z28 has a different exhaust and the SS gets less gains from a cat back.
Anyways, with a MTI lid, K&N, !FRA mod, and a Ported MAF and Ported TB done by Bauer Racing (yes that's me) I'm runing 108 in the 1/4, that's not bad for a 2000. Start on the intake, then do the exahuast. My next step is a set of Dynatechs and cutouts with a Y-pipe and maybe a Corsa later on.

TQ converter for A4 cars. Something in the 3500-3800 range with a high STR (that's stall torque ratio) for a street/strip car. For a really serious race effort I would accept nothing less than a Yank TP4400.
Underdrive pulley. It's a well proven cost effective mod with practically no drawbacks.
Fast Toys Ram Air (aka FTRA), great gains for the $$$.
Airlid, no doubt, this should be everyone's very first mod.
Ported throttle body. An easy to do free mod with a few ponies even on an otherwise stock engine.
Remove the mass airflow sensor (MAF) screen. Another quick and easy free mod.
A Fram, K&N, or Holley filter should finish off the intake system.
Exhaust cuttout, it can be coupled with an electric cuttout valve for extra power on the go. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
Gutting the cats in cases where emmisions are not a concern. You'll need O2 simulators to prevent the check engine light.
TR-55 spark plugs, the stock platinum plugs are not that great for performance applications as platinum is a poor conductor of electricity and the platinum pucks tend to fall off leaving the plug with an especially wide gap.
A cooler thermostat, great for fighting detonation.
Autotap, use this diagnostic tool to keep track of what's going on with your engine and tranny. A must have, IMO.
LS1 Edit, great for recalibrating for other than stock gears, changing fan settings for cooler thermostats, changing shift points, the rev limiter, and a wide array of other settings.
