Default Over axel True Duals..

Hey guys. I just got back from American Racing Headers Exhaust and we discussed my options.

Best bet is this setup:

3 inch to 2.5 x piped and over the axel with 4 bullet's.

2 Bullets before the axel and 2 after the axel.

They think this will be the Best sounding setup and they say they can tuck it up real nice.

They aint cheap but its worth it.

yeah thats what I originally thought until i thought about the access they are making for me to take the exhaust off if I need to without cutting.. putting in the x pipe and mandrel bend.

A good catback is 800 bucks so I guess from header back over the axel it isnt as bad as first thought.

My setup was $1500 out the door, and it was all mandrel bent and Tig welded, plus some extra fab time getting the tips just right. If they do quality work, to me, it would be worth it. I love my exhaust every day I drive it:

1500 for an exhaust is just too much money.
hell speed inc will do a cam kit installed and tuned for that price.
you get way more power from a cam compared to an exhaust.

I don't kow man, I would shop around a bit more if I was you. I definitely agree with you to do it right the first time, but $1500 is a BUTTLOAD of $$$, especially just for true-duals.

Let me put it to you this way. I have simple 2.5" duals dumped at the axle, with an x pipe and bullet mufflers. The entire setup cost me $200 including parts/installation. So you are saying its worth paying almost 8 times as much to have teh exhaust go over te rear axle and extend to the back? No way man, I'm sure someone out there can do just as good of a job for a much lower price.

You'd get a lot more out of your cam kit if you put a good exhuast on it

i have long tubes, catless y pipe going threw a hooker exhaust.
duals will give some better power under the curve, but its not worth 1500 dollars.

I spent around $700 for my true duals over the axle but they arent mandrel bent. $1,500 does sound a bit high to me and yes you will get more power from a cam install but I am still to hear a clean sounding Y-Pipe setup on a stock LS1 (bottom end not bored over or anything). Every time I am in someones LS1 with longtubes and a Y-pipe it makes me want to and really makes me appreciate how my car sounds.

yeah guys I can get a true dual for like 300 bucks but it is CRIMP bent and dumped.

I want the exhaust to look sick.. BE ABLE TO BE TAKEN OUT (none of yours are) without cutting, and be tucked up as high as possible.

The company that is doing this used to run Kooks.

So they know their ****. Pretty much I am getting kooks true duals.

I don't think $1,500 is unreasonable for an over-axle, true dual set-up. Hell, I spent $800.00 for my Kooks, and $500.00 for my Magnaflow stainless cat-back.

Meent: that's a bichin' lookin' set-up. You have no clearance problems over the panhard bar? Nothing touches the floor pans, or fuel tank heat shield?

I had a bich of a time getting the over-axle pipe on my Magnaflow to clear the fuel tank heat shield. I must have loosened, adjusted, lengthened/shortened, and clamped/un-clamped that cat-back 15 times before I finally got everything just-so.

Did the shop offer you different tail pipe options?

Are the wheels ROH Snypers?
