Default ported TB = idlng problems

Installd a ported throttle body compliments of Louis and LG Motorsports and now my friggin car won't idle worth anything. It surges and hunts for idle, especially on cold starts when it almost die. Whats the deal?

My guess is to check all the hoses, and lines and make sure they are on right. I duno since its new mabe the car has to adjust with it. i would start it up and let it sit for 10 mins or so, if it gets worse, call LG. sry i prob sound retarted b/c i duno much about TB's.
http://www.installuniversity.com/ -they do a good job explning a tb install. Goodluck

You had to do "idle relearn" procedure, which you probably skipped. At this point I'd just pull out PCM fuses (bat & ign) for a few minutes with the key on, but car not started (reset PCM) and then let it do the relearn procedure (reach operating t with a/c off, turn a/c on, idle 5 min, turn a/c off, idle 5 min, turn the engine off).

My Bauer TB came with the idle re-learn procedure. But it did not need it. Check/re-check all of the hoses and connectors.

If the blade isn't seated right then you can
get some by-leakage. Using an IAC motor
that's old, on a new TB body, may get you
with a plunger that's already taken a set
to a different piece. Gasket leaks? Who knows what all. Just have to inspect all around.

The idle relearn is one of the most basic of OBD II procedures if you do anything to you vehicle that could effect idle such as remove the throttle body. If you have an erratic idle it's doubtful that the idle relearn will solve that problem. Besides what has already been suggested be sure to check the output of the TPS for correct DC voltages. Closed throttle needs to be close to 0.6 VDC. WOT is no more than 4.74 VDC or a DTC will be set. These values are the BENCHMARKS that the PCM uses to control you A/F ratio. The PCM can't live without these voltages. You MUST use a DIGITAL VOM to get the accuracy you need on these DC voltages

There are alot of things that can be tweaked to make sure it works right.

One thing that can happen is that the hole in the TB can be drilled out and cause this to happen.

A bad IAC sensor can also do this.

The idle set screw can cause this too.

On top of that the hole for the IAC in the epoxy can cause this if it's done wrong.

My bet is the idle relearn needs to be done first.

And yes, I do send that out with instructions on install of the TB with all of my units.
