Default Grots (QTP Headers)

I was wondering who had them and what do you think of them overall? Also what kind of gains did you get from them?

Got mine on order. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

There is no reason they shouldn't be the best header available. They took the awesomely designed Grott header and coupled it with an awesomely designed Y-pipe (something Grott never had.)

Mine should be here in the next couple of days. I'll let ya'll know. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

hmmm

colonel,
are you going to run these on your new motor? what size are they?

I have a new set of stepped dynatech's to install on my 422. just wondering if I should sell them and get the grots/qtp's?

from what I hear the dynatech's produce good #'s on the big cube motors. but I am just wondering about the collectors leaking...

I am shipping some more headers out friday and monday. I will ship out the egr block off plates after because thats what is holding me up. I have an All Bore motor running another brand headers and is going to swap to mine and i expect some increased numbers. But that will be a couple of weeks away.

Terry, if they made them in 2" or larger sizes I'd run them on the new engine. I'll be running the same old 1 7/8" Whisper headers (WAY too small for this engine) until I can find someone to custom build me a set of 2 1/8" headers.

Mine are coming in a couple days and can't wait to see the difference from the SLP's.

I am anticipating a good increase.

Well, if the Grot's that have been available from Roger Grotyohann were the best out there, these headers being sold through QTP and Thunder Racing are the best. Because they are the IDENTICAL headers coming from the EXACT same manufacturer that Roger has been getting them from for all these years.

Mine went on 1 week ago with everything else so I have no idea about the gains.

You would expect MORE?!? A three MPH increase equates to 30 HP! That's a HELLUVA gain from a bolt-on in my book. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> They're just headers, not a supercharger.

Keep in mind, I was still running cats. Without cats I would guess the gain would be a little more.
