Go for the NGK Tr-6's, they are actually a nitrous plug but there is a tuner here by the name of Chris Marsh owner of AMS motorsports here in Arlington, tx that did back to back dynos and the TR-6's on a naturally aspirated motor made more horsepower than the TR-5's did. The gap that was on them was the factory 0.38" and that is what he recommends.

Re: TR-55s or Champion spark plugs?
A long time ago (60s) when I was racing 2 strokes on the flat track, I found that NGK plugs absolutely would not foul when Champion, etc., did.
(don't shoot me) I worked -under the table- at a Suzuki shop for 2 years on non warranty work, and NGK was all I would install.
I personally had so many bad experiences w/Champions that I would only put them in my lawnmower.
Are they better now? Don't know.

When I first got my LS1 in early 98, the first plug I tried was a Champion plug, the RS9YC I believe (3 steps colder) They sucked. I switched to the RS12YC Champions, and they still weren't good, throttle response wasn't that great and the low end bog was still there. I then switched to NGK TR6s and it was like a different car, much better throttle response and the dreaded LS1 low end bog was reduced a lot (but still there, it took 4.10s to solve it)

I had Champions in My old Dodge Truck with a 3.9L V6 and one of them fouled after 3 months. I've had the NGKs in the LS1 for several months and no problems.
