My car just turned 5K miles...I put the SLP Loudmouth on a few days ago and just finished the Hooker LT install and ORP yesterday...I loved the deep sound of the cat-back before the headers went on, and the interior noise was only loud at higher RPMs, so daily commutes at 70 mph in 6th gear were pleasantly quiet...
I drove my Z around last night after the LT install was done and it was a TOTALLY different sound- it reminded me of my first Chevelle with straight pipes and glasspacks. The sound is nice and throaty until it reaches 2200-2500 rpm, when all of a sudden it gets loud an raspy...but other that that it is ok. It'll just take some getting use to I guess. As long as you dont cruise around those RPMs steadily the noise/drone isnt bad at all. I did notice a loss of low-end torque, but up top my power increased signifigantly.

I have the Hooker LTs, catback, and ORY. I don't notice any drone at all, but there is some rasp in the 2-2.5K range. I wouldn't change my exhaust setup for any as of right now. Sounds badass.

I wouldnt consider it really a drone unless youre running steady at, say, 2400 rpms...i go up through the rpms fairly quickly and cruise about 1800. At that rpm there isnt any drone...just a nice deep sound.

I have that exact setup. To be honest, without the converter, I don't know if it would have drone. But with the converter, I have drone around 2000 rpms if I leave from a stop aggressive only. Driving normal (or WOT), there is none.

Hooker complete setup

I have FLP,s w/offroad pipes and Hooker cat-back. I have no drone what so ever; just a nice deep tone. The Hooker cat-back surprised me because it is alot quiter than I had thought it was going to be. You can't beat the Hooker for the price and quality.(no pun intended)

What do you guys think of the black painted hookers? I didn't care for the shiney ones! How long will the black painted ones last?

Also, as you can see I'm interested in buying the HotCam. I wanted to know if it's really necessary to buy the titanium retainers...honestly guys?

The black paint started to come off of mine the night I put them on and took her out for a test drive ...but I wasnt going to spend 200.00 extra when noone is going to see under my hood anyway!

Ill see under that hood..... opps wrong one..anywho - If youre gonna go with a loudmouth - with the headers its going to be purely sound its got the same diameter pipe as all the rest of the "normal" catbacks just has a resonator instead of a muffler, but personally a 4" mufflex would be nice

I have the Hooker LTs + ORP with the Borla catback. I too have that 2000-3000rpm rasp. I don't like it at all. But the performace gains to my supercharged system are amazing. It's like it was choked before and can really breathe now. I'll just make sure I won't stay in that raspy range very long

that shiney coating on your hooker headers is more for then just looks. it can reduce the temp. of the header by as much as 300 degrees. hotter headers are just more heat under the hood.to me its worth the $200. my hooker headers were very nice quality but the quality seems like a hit and miss on others. i jet coated my whole exhaust. after a full day of racing i can put the car in trailer, get underneath the car and tie it down w/o being burned by the exhaust.

I have Hooker L/T, Hooker ORY, and a Dual Dual. I have a pretty bad drone 2000-2500 rpm, but like the previous post, I think the ST3500 converter amplifies it since the car stays in that RPM range a lot. I also get a very noticeable fart sound every time the tranny shifts at light throttle.
