Ditto, mine did it last week...I bought new headers(Kook's) though. Didn't want to run that risk of it happening again.

I just received my Pacesetters yesterday in the mail. There is a little dent in the same exact place, and I haven't really thought much of it. Now after seeing this, I am a little scared

I have never seen anything like this. I had LG headers on my 2001, I started with one of the first sets made in house. I never had any problems with them the 3 years I had them on the car. They looked as good when I sold the car as they did when I put them on. When I switched to the 2004 Z06 I switched to the new PRO sets LG’s sells that are ALL made by Borla (NOT China) and a much better made header than before. This set you are showing must be one of the old old sets and something really look weird with them. I have never seen a set of LG headers look like that. I know 7 of our club members run them, and have for several years without a problem.

I am glad you got intouch with LG, they have great customer service.

LOL My Kooks just did it too, so....

LG replace the header on the car for you? I'm waiting to see if Kooks is going to have that kind of customer service, everyone keeps telling me the customer service is great there though!

whatever happened to stainless headers looking better than coated mild steel ones? you guys SS headers look way worse than my coated headers, and they've been through rain, snow, salt, everything...

I plan on getting race style headers for this exact reason. Air and egr tubes are pointless if you run an ORY pipe anyway.

I have Gibson stainless on my truck and will never buy stainless again (at least not for looks lol). They look REALLY rusty. You can buff it off but it looks nasty. Glad to see Lou took care of you. Hope kooks does the same for you Arcolog2

The reason the headers look like that is because of extened duration of raised EGT. From running lean A/F ratio's. There for the elavated EG temps burn the nickel and chrome out of the 304 S/S. In return The material goes into a carbonized state, weakening the material around the fitting . We highly recommened not using block of plates on fittings. Just call us like I asked we will address the situation . Thanks
