solid motor mounts?

anybody done this?how much time did you pick up? <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

I dont think you would pick up much time if any unless you are making some SERIOUS power, even then I dont see much too be gained from them.

They would cause knock retard out the wazoo on one of these cars. You could always have that removed I'm sure but all the rattle, vibration and noise just isn't worth it on a street car. Solid mounts should be a race car only mod IMO.

I've got a torque strap on my car and didn't notice any improvement in e.t. It does prevent the exhaust from hitting the floor, which used to happen every once in a while.

torque strap? My exhaust is hitting the floorboard too, and theres noway i can fix it without something like that.. Did you put it on the autotap and see if it is causing any KR? I thought of doing it but cancelled it out due to the KR factor.. I was thinking maybe i had a busted motor mount and im going to change it soon. let me know.

It's not like the solid motor mounts are going to be clanging up against anything metal, causing knock retard.
