I just used a plastic hose connector (got it at the parts house for a matter of pennies.) I used the factory clamps. In my case there was just enough hose length to keep it off the waterpump pulley.

On the '02s with their odd fitting setup,
the hoses are different sizes. I used a
spare piece of 1/4" stainless tubing that
happened to be bent 90 degrees already.
Of course, if you don't have boxes full
of this sort of thing that isn't so helpful.
I hacked off the casting boss on the underside
so it tucked up nice.

Hmmm...haven't tried it on my '02 yet and I don't think I did it on my '01 either. I think the last time I did it was on my '00.

I don't think you'll have problems nor will you ever notice the difference good or bad. It's a squirrel mod for sure. Sounds good in theory but it's such a small thing (not like that air moving at 300 MPH stays in the throttle body long enough to get very hot) it would be very hard to prove it's worth.
