Fuel System Plumbing Question
I'm in the process of ordering all the parts I need from Jeg's, but unfortunately since my motor and tranny ('01 LS1/T56) won't be here until the end of the week, I have nothing to put my hands on or take measurements on. I have just a few questions, so if anyone could take a few minutes and comment/answer any of them, I'd appreciate it. It's going into a 93 RX7, but due to the nature of the questions, I doubt that'll even be relevant.
What size line does the stock LS1 fuel rail accept, 3/8"? I have to plumb the fuel line from the FPR which has -6AN ports, so I have the choice of running a ss line from the FPR to the stock hose barb on the fuel fail and simply sliding it over and securing it with a hose clamp (which defeats the purpose) or either tapping the fuel rail to accept a 1/4"NPT to -6AN fitting, or welding a -6AN male fitting onto the fuel rail. Which would you suggest and why?
Thanks for any suggestions.

its a 3/8" inlet. I'm going to use the russels -6 to 3/8" hard line adapter on my conversion. It just crimps on, dont have to worry about pin hole leaks or anything that way.
just a FYI...if you plan to use aluminum line for the hard line, you can use a cheapo parts store bought flaring tool to flare to AN size if you'd like and it will seal.
Personally, i dont like the idea of "crimping."

The adapter im gonna use is for the inlet on the fuel rail. I dont know if it would be possible to flare that, because of the lip that the stock fuel line hooks on with.
the hard line adaptor works great, i have it on my return line
its more of a crush sleeve than a crimp.. take a look.

They have female hose ends that go on the hoses. You can check out what they have alvailable at www.jegs.com. its in the hardware and hoses section I believe. Hope this helps.
