Is it a worthwhile mod if you already have cut out the air box and have a lid ?

Yes. It works much better than the "free ram air"

 

I think any kind of sealed ram air is better than nothing. My new setup keeps the filter cleaner than just the free ram air mod by cutting a slit in the bottom of the tray. Plus it grabs cool air, not hot air at the top of the radiator support and it's sealed.

 

One of the best bang for the buck mods you can make. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
