Installing new y pipe only...help! Hey guys,
I want to replace the y pipe and take out the cats. All the aftermarket pipes I have seen run from the cats back or do not fit stock headers. Is there a way you can simply remove the cats and just replace the piping in their place? I would think this would be much cheaper.
Or does anyone know of a ORY that fits the stock headers?

Slp makes one. If you plan on headers save your money. I had one on my car and it was one of my newbee mod mistakes. I still have mine, if you realy want one send me a pm I'll sell it to you.

Doesn't the SLP piece keep the cats?
Mufflex makes cat bypass pipes, but they seem pricey.

Headers would be a better mod, but I've been considering the MAC pipe, as cheap way to get a little more sound out of the car.

Yeah i was looking at that MAC pipe but it says it only works with 98-99 manifolds. I have a 2002. That didnt make sense to me because i was under the impression that the majority of the car was identical from 98-02. Would this pipe work in my 02 Z28?
