Default How much does Cutout really change sound?

I have LT's, no cats, ORY, and Hooker catback. i also have a pretty lopey cam. how much louder and lopier sounding with the car be with a cutout at the end of the I pipe (jimmyblue style) than through the hooker muffler? i dont care about performance right now, just the sound. if it isnt going to make it that much louder, i wont waste my 200 bucks. i drove the car with open headers before, and that was bad ***. will it sound anything close to that?

Also, this has been asked a thousand times, but im trying to choose between QTP and DMH. Any thoughts?

QTP's.

When I had 1 cut out in the I pipe it sounded very awsome. And gained 5hp on the rollers.

your car will go from sounding good to sounding like raw *** in the filp of a switch

i have one, sounds good at idle but too raspy for street driving

oh and go with dmh.

Thats the thing, i just want to be able to have it at the track, and when i want it to sound like "raw ***". in other words, i want my loping cam to sound like the sick spawn of satan. is that what will happen? is it like open headers?

FWIW, I've known at least 2 people who had QTEC cutouts fail on them.

most popular QTPs'. you can also do dual cutouts then that will be like open headers.

Big difference in sound. I like my QTP alot. Dont even bother with the other brands. QTP is the largest and have the most out there by far. Also they are the only ones that actually support and sponsor the LS1 world. The others dont care.

I have my cutouts installed on my duals behind the axle and even still they sound a bit raspy. But the cam does sound amazing at idle.

If you disconnect your y-pipe from your I-pipe that is how it will sound.
