Coolant overflowing through reservoir???
When I turned my car off, the coolant started running out through the overflow reservoir. So I checked my temp. guage and it was fine. So I let it cool off then tried it again. This time I let it run for about 15 mins. and it didn't get hot nor did the cooloant run out this time. I don't understand this. When something tears up, it doesn't just fix itself. Any help would be greatfully appreciated!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Did you add any coolant or water lately? Have the oil changed where someone may have added? Have you checked for any leaks?
Bottom line is the system is pressurized to increase the boiling point. If it ran out the reservoir overflow, you either had too much in there or it got hotter than usual causing it "boil over". It doesn't necessarily mean anything is broken.
Check the level when it is cold, check for any leaks, or anything that would cause it to run hot...a piece of paper in front of the radiator, etc., top it off to the fill cold line and see what you have.
Hope this helps and good luck.

You need to get the car heated up, remove the plugs, then run a compression test. You might have blown a head gasket into your water jacket. The problem can be intermittent depending on how hard you run it. Only way to tell is with a compression test, though. The kit is like $20 at your local auto parts store.
Another sign of this is coolant in your oil in the form of a grey sludge on the inside of your oil filler cap (it evaporates in the oil and condenses here). If it just happened, though, this might not be showing yet.

Try a new radiator cap, I've seen a few go bad do the same thing. It will also spit out fluid from the overflow if the system is overfilled with coolant.
