Default K/N FIPK ???

Do you guys that have them like them??
Have heard all of the arguments of having this as compared to the lid & filter.
I like the way the FIPK cleans up the engine bay.
Should also recieve mt BB Ported/polished TB this week!!!
Think throwing both of these on @ the same time would be a great improvment. Thanks in advance.
Matt

do a search, i think this was posted back a few days ago.
The FIPK is a great system, but it it takes in hot air from the engine bay as well. There is a mod that mrB0000 does that helps -

I like my FIPK. It really cleans up the engine bay and the throttle response is great.

I like mine and my gains speak for themselves.

Last week I also made an opening underneath the filter, but instead of making holes I cut out a rectangular box the width of the filter in the metal plate and the radiator plastic cover. So now its sucking air from both sides, especially happy with it sucking cold air from underneath.

I like mine just fine, but then again I've never had an aftermarket lid. I say buy the cheaper one and spend the extra money elsewhere.

I have a lid/filter setup and I love it! It cleans up the engine bay as much as the FIPK does, due to the lack of those stupid looking stock air silencers. Plus with the free ram air mod the horsepower gain is just as much, if not more than the FIPK. You can also do cool stuff like the carbon fiber lid(which I have and it looks awesome!) or clear lid, and its a great place for some well chosen decals. Plus, the last time I checked it costs A LOT less. MTI has the best products/prices in the lid department in my opinion. If you want some pics, let me know.

Thanks for the replies! I already have the FRA mod,lid,K/N. I have gotten bored with them & am looking to spend a few more $$ to clean up the engine bay!
From what i have seen you simply cannot beat the look of these things!
I have found the FIPK for $329.00 & can sell my current lid & filter, slp bellow for $60.00-$70.00 bucks. let's see, approx. $275.00 for the FIPK. not bad.

I wouldn't do the FIPK unless you did something to enclose it so that it only draws from colder air, outside the engine bay. Personally, I don't care for my black MTI lid, it's brittle & cracked all to hell. My bud across the street has one of the newer design SLP lids & it looks really nice. It's made of a similar plastic like the stock one & has the SLP logo embossed on it. It's really clean & has a hook up for the hose so you don't have to use a little breather filter on it for the 01-02's.
