Default If you have TRUE DUALS, please come in!

I had an x-pipe installed last Friday with bullet mufflers and dumps before the axle. The guy I had do the welding did an outstanding job! Best ground clearance I've seen thus far on a lowered car. Anyway... He didn't want to weld the hangers to the floorboard because he was afraid of burning the carpet, so he used self-tapping screws. Within an hour, one side had already come loose. I bought some beefier screws and replaced them, and cut some o-rings out of rubber hose to insulate the screws between the hangers and floorboard. This really isn't working either. At around 2000rpm, I'm getting this reverbiration that sounds like a Civic w/ a fart pipe!

What did you guys do to attach the hangers?

Should I just get them welded to the floorboard?

Or can I bolt them up and insulate the mounting points some how?

PLEASE HELP! THAT NOISE IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!

...sorry for the lengthy post.

I just had the exact same setup done to my car, the other day. Not a problem yet, I have the rear part of it welded to the bottoms of the rear seats. No problems like I said. Looks killer uh.

10secz, get justin sutton's x-pipe (he is a member of this site), it is really good and he is great with customer service. I used the dynomax 42444 mufflers. They are pretty loud, but deep! As far as fitment goes, your exhaust guy will have to do an all custom job.

Thanks guys!

If bolts and a bunch of rubber washers don't do the trick I'll get them welded.

10secZ, I also got Justin's x-pipe. Since he's not a sponsor he can't advertise so yoiu would have to contact him directly. Like Zshark and manny others, I used the Dynomax Bullets.

My buddy build the rest of the exhaust off the X pipe for me and he still cant get over how good it looks.

Just sent Justin an E-mail. What did you end up paying for your X-pipe.

Yeah, I have the same problem too. I just got my duals done yesterday by Lane. Man , the car sounds awesome though. I was kind of in a hurry because I was already late for my dyno tune appointment so Lane decided to bolt the rear hangers to the floor board instead of welding them for the time being. He said he usually welds the hangers on but since we were shorty on time, he bolted them up. For a while the vibration wasn't there but when I drove the car after the dyno tune the car was getting this very loud vibration sound coming from the right rear of the car were one of the hangers was bolted. I only hear it at 2000 rpm, before or after that I don't get any vibration. I'm hoping this is the problem, cause other than that vibration, everything else is great! I'm going up to Lanes today anyway so he can check it out.

Why don't you guys just get a hanger welded, and put the hanger lower on the duals, and use a rubber hanger to connect them?

Won't transmit any heat.

Anybody have trouble getting their xpipe kit from Justin? I have been waiting for about a month and a half(or so) and still haven't got mine. Also, I have emailed him twice since the 22 or 23 of Feb. and no answer back. What do you think?
