Question Standard cast headers / cat positioning

What`s the max hp the standard LS1 cast headers will take before I`ll to need to get tubular ones ?

And how far away from the headers can I fit my cats ?
At the mo. they`re gonna be about 4ft from the collector flange.

I'd say just the stock engine is being chocked by the manifolds, so I would suggest just upgrading as soon as you can.

i agree. headers are usually the best bolt on for an lsX.

I'd also recommend headers before any internal engine modifications.

You should put twin turbos, then you don't care about
headers very much (the turbine being most of the
"restriction" then).

Dont wanna turbo it yet, need to get everything in and sorted first.

What about the positioning of the cats, they`re about 4ft back from the collectors, will this be ok ???
