The u-bend will help make the connections by cutting it to the angles you need. The kit will not just hook up and everything line up, it needs fabrication as with all universal kits. I just got the Dr. Gas kit and can see exacty what Full-Force is talking about.

the extra U bend is for the driver side
The passenger header exits straight back so you just use the 45* in the kit. It will come up short of the header but you can use a piece that you cut off the rear section to extend it to the header.
The driver side when it comes out of the x you need more angle than the 45* in the kit to swing out around the xmember and also to make a sharp bend back to the header which points outward.
The driver side totally takes all the fun out of making the duals from the universal kit. An LT1 car is easy.

So is there anywhere out there that has advice on true duals on a LT1 car? I've got the catback flowmaster, and well now I think I want duals instead of messing with unbolting the cutout every Friday.
I assume it will flow more with duals than the cutout, but should I go with 2.5 or 3 inch? I'm going to be running nitrous soon.

It will work but will require some cutting and welding. You will need to buy 1 mandrel U bend extra. Some of the pipe that you trim off the rear section can be used as an extension to reach the headers.
