yeah i took the three bolts out and checked the other week while installing longer wheel studs and it looked like there was a thin plate that had a big hole in it so definitely not blocking air there. just wondering what people though about the slp as to the borla.

alright well then i guess i will stay with the borla i just put drag radials on my car and the car slowed up over street tires so i was looking for the cheap way to get some power back i think since the radials are taller they killed the car kinda disapointing but we'll see. there is a test day coming up that a friend of mine has the track rented i can make like 20 passes and test different stuff like the whol hypertech Power program installed and stock tune, ect. but thnx i guess i'll just save for something else. what else can i do w/o a tune. (dont really have 750) to get a tune (thats what the place here charges to do a dyno tune)

ugh don't do either. IMHO both sound AWFUL. i'm sorry, but i think borla sounds NASTY on an LS1 and the loudmouth has no tone at all. i'd go with GMMG if you wanna be loud or SLP dual/dual if you wanna be quiet. both sound best on LS1's IMO.

Switching from Borla to Loudmouth might get you a couple horsepower at most, but that's about it. Both of them (if you run an open plate on the Borla) are simply glorified cutouts.

You won't see any bhp from swapping out the catback.

It will alter the sound though.

The LM is loud but IMO it sounds very good. I personally never really liked the sound of the Borla, Corsa or Magnaflow.

The GMMG is nice but pricey. A LM will give you 90% GMMG for half the price.

I would recomend keeping CATS even if you go with headers later on or else the LM will tend to get a bit too loud and some claim it goes raspy Never actually heard it myself though.

But as I said you won't get any HP increase over the Borla. Check out my sig, theres a mod guide there. It might help you decide on what route you want to go next.

Keep the Borla. GMMG is overated (yes I've heard em before) and overpriced. That Borla catback costs like $8XX. Can be made almost quiet as stock by closing it up.

Yeah but who in there right mind would want to do that

It'd be like being on a date with a real hot chick, getting invited in for a bit of the other and refusing because you have work the next day

I really don't like the borla. I would buy the loudmouth over it in a second but if you already have borla, don't waste your time. If you're gonna spend $800+ on an exhaust I think the choice is between corsa, true duals, and gmmg. But there's no point in going from the borla to the loudmouth unless you want to sell the borla and maybe get some money back.
