Do air lids and better MAF's require tuning?

DO you realized thats only 100 bucks away from some Jethots? ANd a third of the way to a set of coated Jethots with coated y pipe, including installation? 1050 in da car at FBC, all day long
Headers are a lot of money, but they work, no questions. i knwo guys going than everyoen else on ported stock MAFs. Keep 300 bucks in your pocket.

You can get away by doing these mods and not require any tuning, but on average the car will continue to run rich. My SS ran way rich with just a lid, filter, y-pipe and a baffle. Just using Atap and LS1Edit made my car run night and day difference by the seat of the pants method. I figure I got at least a tenth by just tuning it.

My fuel trims were pretty much neutral with my stock MAF and existing Predator tuning. When I installed my friend's SLP 85 MM, they went to -3 and -7 in closed loop. So if I end up keeping the 85 MM I will lean some more with the Predator. And next time I head to the dyno (soon) I will dial it in. But -3 and -7 are certainly not excessive and I'm sure you could get by without tuning. Not sure how much power you would gain, but it wouldn't absolutely require A/F adjustment. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
