Default anyone tried this?......

i was just wondering if anyone has tried getting a custom intake manifold made to support 2 90mm throttle bodies, so it would be a dual throttle body setup. has anyone one tried this or does anyone know if it will even work?

I have actually seen this once. I can't remember where. I believe it was in a magazine. Both throttle bodies were pointed straight up towards the hood.

So it is possible.

The NW 90mm throttle body has been flowed to over 1200cfm, do you really need more than that?

One guy on here has a custom setup with 4 50mm tb's on his 'vette you could check out, maby someone remembers his handle?

One TB is gonna be good enough for 1200rwhp not to mention the 1200CFM that it flows as well.

having 2 should increase hp because the more air the engine is getting the more power it makes right?

One of them will already outflow the manifold by a long shot. If adding two would help perfromance, I'd be putting 2 8" exhaust tips on the camaro tomorrow.

Dual throttle bodies can help, but I don't see the necessity. If you were to go with two, I would choose a smaller size.

The last issue of gm high tech performance has a picture of a vette with a custom manifold with dual 101mm throttle bodies. I really can't imagine what the hell it would be needed for, though.

Well yes and no.

If one TB can flow sufficent for the HP requirements then adding a larger or multiple TB's won't help and probably be a deficit.

Multiple TB's are good for throttle response, espcially under part throttle conditions this is due largly to curtain area. However PEAK power at WOT won't be any different.

Single runner intake manifolds would also work well and if this was capped with a TB for each runner it would be very very good. However it would be complex and bulky. But it would give you 8 TB's
