If the LS6 intake is suppose to give 15HP and I have an '02 WS6 (comes with the LS6 intake), I should have more HP than the older LS1 engines that came with the LS1 intake. Or, does GM tune the car back down?

Yes, you have more HP than a 2000 back. Yes, generally about 10-15 more RWHP. Yes, the 2001-2002s have a smaller cam but it improved overall HP and torque. The smaller cam helped lowend through mid-range and the improved intake helped the upper rpm ranges.

I've heard that the LS6 intake is worth about 5rwhp or so on a stock LS1. Of course, the more you add, the more power it makes over the LS1 intake. For what it's worth, I just put down 320rwhp and 333rwtq SAE on an 00 WS6 M6 with only an SLP dual/dual (stock everything else, paper filter), and I doubt I'd be putting down 335/340 with JUST an LS6 intake. I'd love to see that though!

Yup, Paul is right. The heads/cam LS1's benefit from the LS6 intake much more than a stock cube LS1. Still, the 01's and 02's are making more power than the rest.

thats odd, because my room mate has a Tr224, and he gained almost 20hp from an ls6 intake.

and ive seen people gain more than 10 with bolt on's only..

thats why i want an ls6 intake, doesnt seem like there is much left for me to do but pully, ls6 intake, and a ported TB.

I gained 18 rwhp and 12 rwtrq with a LS6 intake. I only have bolt ons and a cam. So I don't think you need both heads and a cam to see good gains from the intake.

Yes, I was really happy! Perhaps 3 or so hp came from the computer learning as the after cam dyno was done right after the install? But that is the only mod I have done since the cam and LS1edit.
