Ya I love the sound of single chambers. My 69 Chevelle has the dumps like yours, sounds bad *** but it's loud in the car. I'm going back to the shop to move the mufflers and tuck the tips back up under the bumper. I thought I would give this a try but im not really diggin it. Here is a sound clip!

Heres my contribution: I got sick of my LM1 with the LT's on, and I was browsing the western section and came across a thread about a "getto" TD setup. Well I liked it a lot for the price and ended up doing something similar at the same shop. I have Flowtech LT's into an H pipe , then moroso spiral flows, 3" all the way. I have no tips on it yet but the pipes run out the back in the stock location. Whats so ghetto about this you may ask? Under the axle pretty much sum it up, but I couldn't be happier with it. It cost me about $400 total, sounds very nice and I definitely noticed a difference over the LM. My only complaint is that its pretty quiet. For the person that will say something about it, yes they are crush bends and I don't care.

What would be a small muffler good for a dumped td system that is realitivly quiet with a great sound still?

Moroso Spiral Flows all the way if you want it quiet. They are pretty tame at idle and cruise, but they scream at WOT. Great sound quality and nice noise level IMO...though I do wish it was louder now and then so I open up the cutouts.

I've wanted to hear those on an F-body too. I'm sure someone has used them on a Gen III truck by now. There has to be a sound clip out there somewhere.

This is a crappy job, but this is what the profile of your kit will end up looking like. I have used your kit to build many setups.
