It sounds real good with a closed plate(had to go in for a ticket write off) but I havent had an open plate on it yet.

I love the sound. I have cats' and the rasp is still there a bit, but that goes bye-bye ( for the most part ) when I close the QTEC. I can' t wait to get a cam or a power-adder. I definately has a deeper tone, just puttin' around and will scare children and old people when WOT. The only change I would make is a bigger I-pipe, and I would be happy with my exhaust setup.

Do yourself a favor and get a QTEC and you will be a happy camper

With headers and wide open plte, I had alot of rasp when getting on it.

I out my high flow cats on and rasp is gone. Now the cam is in and it sounds great.

you better run cats unless you like your exhaust to sound like an old man vomiting. LT's + ORY + borla = worst tone/rasp imaginable. it's good for ricers who are into V8's. its tone sucks and is just obnoxiously loud. all you'll need is neon, strobes and a type-R sticker to complete the borla + ORY package.

ok so maybe i'm being a little harsh

but it is ridiculously raspy. that and i don't like the borla tone, but it's just my opinion. some people like loud and raspy. that combo would never find its way on my car.

I have a 2000 ws-6 with headers, borla and a catted Y and love it. They have been on for almost 2 years. I have gotten nothing but great feedback. I have an electric plate also (not a qtec, but does the same thing), so I can adjust it however I want on the fly. I would recommend this set-up to anyone. Most important, I strongly suggest the cut out. To be able to fine tune the sound from wild to mild in 3-5 seconds is one of the best moves I made. Everyone has their own opinion, maybe different headers didn't agree with the borla as some others (I have kooks). I love mine....

Just put Jet Hot LTs and ORY on this weekend. And my borla is wide open. I love it so far, but it's only been 2 days of fun. I myself like the motorboat sound at idle, and really like the WOT sound through it, but you'll have to decide for yourself i guess.
