Default Working on the Hawk as WE SPEAK...

and I cant get the damn battery out. How do i get the stock battery out, so i can put in my optima???

PLEASE HELP

You have to unbolt the plastic thing at the bottom.. it holds on the to batter. Youll need a big extension. Its facing the rear of the car.

yes, you have to remove the battery terminals, do that first then the clamp at the bottom.

The terminals are held on the side by a bolt thats in the center of them.

alright, cause i started by tryin to pop off the rubber pieces with a screwdriver... hope i didnt f anything up..

Be careful when you tighten them back into the battery, they strip easily.

ok, I wouldn't work on my car alone if I couldn't figure out how to get my own battery out. Thats kinda a bad sign of lack of mechanical knowledge. Just make sure you don't mess anything else up while your at it.

yea, one of them was previously stripped, and now, i dunno how the hell to get it off

Get a pair of channel locks and grab the bolt real tight so it doesnt strip even more and it will come off.

Be careful when you put the new battery in and pull the old one out. The other tab that stays stationary can break. Whoever did the last battey swap on my car broke it and you have to replace the whole over flow container to fix it.

red, so positive. it was stripped to hell, but i used a vice wrench on it and got it off. the thing is so corroded. Now what will need to be replaced... can i just replace that bolt?
