Please stop posting.

Not only did you bust into a thread with some irrelevant information, but the only thing you managed to "prove" is how big of an *** you are.

I hope the rest of the members can find this thread as funny as I have.

I guess by this notion you have a 10" exhaust tip too? They do flow a lot more than even dual 3"!

an open, velocity stack filter has more room to gather air and the filter design greatly adds to air velocity, compared to a flat panel filter which tends to disrupt the air and disperse it, let alone the flat panel having such small openings to gather air from.

If ignorance is bliss, then I'll get those stupid plates that says "LS1/ Camaro..etc" bolted on the side of my engine heads.

Andros, there's more to it than just that diagram but whatever. You like your setup, I like mine.

It really would depend on the location of the open air filter. If you can't get cold air to the open air filter and all you get is hot engine circulated air, you are defeating the purpose. Also, having the sealed lid with the ftra intake path is what generates the "Ram Air" effect. I didn't do any experiments with the SS, but I used to race my Grand Prix. After testing about every system I could create, I found the best results with a set up similar to a FTRA set up feeding a sealed box with an open air cone inside. It was consistently .1 - .2 tenths faster at the track with that set up than just having the open cone because it was getting fed cooler air.

true, an open air filter would benefit more greatly with ram air.

Which is exactly what I said when douche nozzle Andros came in here. An open filter setup on a non SS or WS6 fbody is damn near pointless.

Once again, the 10" exhaust tip would be a great mod for you too!

I *highly* doubt that the pressure pressure under the air filter in a stock lid/filter setup even drops but about 1/10th of a PSI from atmospheric. If a 12"x6" panel filter (or whatever the dimensions are) won't flow the air your needing, you've got a meaner LSx than I've ever seen.

People experience NO gains from going from no filter at all, to even a STOCK paper filter.

i'll get a 10" tip. That's a great idea. It's about as useful as the SS hood.

Unless you guys aren't seeing the point of the 10" exhaust comment, I'll explain further.

Here's a little question to ponder over for the next few weeks (or however long the comprehension process takes for ya).

If people make 560rwhp with a stock filter/lid setup, do you think that huge open 360* air filter is going to make a farts difference in a hurricane?

If you do, you need to go get a 10" exhaust pipe to increase flow in that area as well.
