I had a Flowmaster on mine for a little, and it sounded like complete ****. The rasp was unbearable. I went back to my stock catback, and it sounds way better. And I put down 342/347 thru the stock catback with just a lid, lt's, and an ory, so it's not flowing too bad.

I hate how LS1's without cats sounds.
I was trying to add options.

Seems like uncatted LS1s sound like garbage with a Y pipe, unless you got a really nice catback like a Corsa or a Borla. I dunno I have True Duals with no cats and it sounds fantastic. Although it sounded to loud for the first week, give the computer some time to realise what you did.

i have the flowmaster 50series. granted yall have about 24 more cubes than me mine was not raspy at all. though it ran like sounded good, to check for an exhaust leak hold your hands near the gasket on the headers and try and feel for air coming out or around all the welds and stuff. a leak would definitly give it a nasty sound.

Weld a Borla XR-1 in the I-pipe. Will eliminate almost all rasp and drone. It is a straight-through muffler, so it's not much of a restriction...

I am gonna get a clip up this weekend. You guys prob have never heard a duck call exhaust! Turns out it wasn't rasp it's just the sound the stock muffler makes with headers and ory . I need to hear some cars with headers and a catback to make my descion now. I have checked ls1sounds a million times and can't make up my mind. I am in love with the trans am with the gmmg and headers!

I just saw your car today at HSW all I can say is Holy Sh*t! That thing could wake the dead! Matt started it up and I was like WOW! I don't think I could daily drive my car like that. But it was the craziest thing I have ever heard! You had all the Anniversary editions stuff on it right? I couldn't imagine pulling up next to that at a light

Hooker Aero Chamber muffler and weld it in place of the stocker. If you have the extra cash, get the hooker cat back. Don't get me wrong, I love my duals and X pipe, but the Hooker cat back sounded really good also. Very little rasp with Hooker LT's and ORY. My old cat back is now on my uncles 02 Ram Air TA with the same set up and he loves it.

Did you ever look up the guy with my old DD caback? That would sound nice with your current setup.

Mine sounded like *** until I put high-flow cats on. That got rid of the rasp for me.

I have Flowmaster, it doesnt sound to bad at all with the cut-out closed. Not really raspy at all. A pretty nice deep sound. Not saying its the best by any means, but not at all the way people are saying its "raspy". It sounds good, but nothing compared to when the cut-out is open at WOT.

80 Series Crossflow here with LT's and no cats. Sounds good, but I am starting to get some resonance. Thinking of going to TD's.
