160 Degree Thermostat
Alright. I have said nothing to enter the argument regarding the T-Stat. YOU know NOTHING about my thoughts, knowledge or opinions, and have no grounds to make a statement about me. I have read DOZENS of your posts where your omniscient power guides the "ignorant" to chaco taco nirvana. If you're such an expert, and if anyone can turn wrenches, why do you have only rims, which probably were purchased with the car, an slp lid, that even if you did, takes but five minutes (oh and no wrenches involved, perfect for you) and a catback that I'll take the liberty in assuming wasnt done by you. Oh and the best part, you advertise the fact that you have stock gears, man that's awesome, truly something to brag about! The fact is you need to stop boasting this wealth of knowledge that you have gathered from hundreds of questionable sources over the past 20 years of your life. My arguement with you is not over the T-Stat, but with you. You need to stop believing that you know all there is to know, and that you OPINIONS are true and better than all elses. I hate to tell you this, but one day espeically if this trait of yours carries into your everyday life, reality is going to slap you in the face, and boy, is it going to hurt.
i never said i'm an 'expert'. i just understand engines today are designed to run differently than engines designed 40 years ago, and i accept that. you think i wouldn't want to go back to the days where cars had 400 stock horsepower, gas was 30 cents a gallon and there were no emissions laws? ****, i'd be in heaven! stop being so stubborn and just admit times are changing. it ain't the 50's anymore old man, the hippies have changed everything
again, coolant makes oil milky, not water. water settles to the bottom. it doesn't mix with oil. i don't know how many more times this can be said.
do you agree on this?
edit: corrected the math for a work week, even less. Sorry guys.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
i have $39 in my wallet

but i'd advise against that. too much heat is just as bad as not enough. anyway, for best mpg, just run the stock t-stat, make sure your cats are clean (or even better, run no cats for even better mpg), run the most free-flowing exhaust on the market, an aftermarket lid, CIA, higher gear ratios (like 2.73's and 3.08's), headers, aftermarket tunes...these all boost your mpg significantly. one of the biggest mpg gains can be seen with an underdrive pulley and an electric water pump.
shoot, even turbos and a set of heads can boost your mpg. people lose mpg due to their driving style. a cam and low gears (3.73's, 4.10's) will seriously cut your mpg though
