Default QTP 1 7/8" To big?

I have a Procharged 00 SS with 6psi. I want to go to 9 psi and do all the bolt ons i found a good deal for 1 7/8" primary non hvmc headers. Question is are they to big for me using stock heads or will they work good? I know usually the bigger the primary the more hp and u loose some torque but anyone out there running straight 1 7/8"ers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I'd get 1 7/8'' for you. 1 3/4'' is mainly for stock displacement h/c/i bolt on type cars. Strokers and power adders I'd opt for the 1 7/8''. Hope this helps... Kooks has a little gauge as well on what size to use for your application, forgot which site it was. Contacting the header company would also be an option.

if its a good deal i would defintily pick up the non-hvmc for a procharged car. The high velocity merge collector really wouldnt help you anyways because you need flow and not scavenging.

Kooks 1-7/8's, not even sure if QTP makes their 1-7/8's anymore, you might want to check. My Kooks were kind of a pain to put in (jackup motor, grind k-member), but they fit AWESOME and their y-pipes are second to none. I have the 3" to 4" ORY pipe, expect a writeup w/ pics later on in the week.

I am running 1 7/8 on my stock motor no power adder and have no loss at all. I would highly recommend them on a charged motor. My KOOKS went on smooth as glass
