Whatever you do don't pay $500 for an LS6 intake. You can find them for sale all the time for $300. That seems to be about the going rate lately. Most people are probably going to tell you that the LS6 is a better intake since it is made of Nylon 66 and won't heatsoak like the Holley metal intake.

I had an LS6 only my 2002 before I went for the polished look.
I gained some midrange with the Weiand, without losing any up top. Now it's twin turbo'd.
Heat soak in reality is bs. On a 500hp car you might lose 3. Think about the volume of air flowing through the runners, do you think it has time to heat to any noticable amount?

An intake charge may heat 10 to 15 degrees more then with the nylon intake,and it just makes your car more prone to KR.I just dont think its worth it unless your going for a chromed engine look like firehawk,which i must say is badass and worth every penny.
