Default How much will i gain?

i have a 2000 WS6 A4 basically stock was wondering how much HP i would gain by adding a SLP lid (yes i know they are good for 7-10 hp) and descreening my stock MAF could i gain 15 at the wheels or is the descreen one of those 2-3 hp mods?

thing is with the lid you will also buy a K&N filter, they will no give you anything on the dyno or hardly any, the iterstate is where you will see the dif. and descreening the MAF is same thing all on top end is whre you will se a dif.

ok what you would gain by adding lid, k&n, descreening your maf, cutting out the plastic beneath your air filter, tb by-pass, and making sure your tb opens 100%. I would say a good 15-20 hp total.

bump what he said... you'll notice that your car will pull harder but your gains arent gonna be outrageous or ne thing, if youre interested in what 1slowls1 said search for 'free mods' (bump stop mod, fra mod, etc)

Take all the stuff off and pull the filter. Get the saw and cut it out. You will see what you need to cut immediately. And on de-screening your MAF. Just be careful. You can cause more harm than help. I would strongly advise against it. The benefits are not near what the consequences are. You will get more power due to the fact that you are leaning out your motor. Just remember too lean is *boomtastic*.

So your saying with all the free mods and intake it wont all add up to atleast 15-20hp on the dyno??? Minus the descreening cause you are risking messin with the computer on that. Obviously its not goin to be noticed down low but it should see close to 15hp on the topend with all that.

There have been articles in gmhtp when they dyno tested just lids on the same car by itself varied between different makers 8-13hp.

Descreening the MAF isnt worth the risk....honestly. That foil in there was designed to flow adequate for what you are going to need to do.

Im just goin to add ripping out the screen on the maf is not a good idea the screen is to allow the maf to obtain a more accurate reading unless you plan on goin for all out power and plan on having the car tuned afterwards I would recommend leaving it in.
Ripping it out on a stock car is a hit or miss some cars react to it good and some react to it with poor idling, stumbling.

Don't mess with descreening it.....besides if u wanna get a tune later it will be a hell of a lot easier for the tuners if u have it.....not worth the consequences for 2 hp

I have popped I dont know how many screens out of MAFs in parking lots without an issue so I wouldnt sweat it as long as you stay away from the cross bar thats in center. If you dont see the radiator and AC condensor when you take the air filter out then you have more cutting to do .
