Default Electric Water Pump

Hey guys, my water pump busted on the way home from work this morning and I want to upgrade to an electric water pump. How hard is the install and is there any tuning or anything like that required? Does it require a new serpintine belt? Thanks for the help. Im tryin to order everything today and get it by friday or sat so i can go to the track on sunday.

I have the Meziere EWP and absolutely love it. I didn't do the install though. I believe its the same belt because it just rides on and idler. I got the pump and an underdrive pulley done at the same time. I got new belts too. I know I had to have a T-stat for the pump. Its integrated into the water pump itself. Sean at LG said it was a bit of nuisance to install but nothing worth getting upset over. Good luck on the install. You'll see a few more hp at the wheels, and if you drive your car much on the street you'll see more MPG. Engine revs quicker too.

yes its the same belt,ud pulleys are the ones that require new belts. also love mine. nicest looking part under my hood sofar. no tune needed, and the wirieng is also very simple. especailly if you dont integrate a switch in the cockpit.. i just have mine setup with a relay when the keys on acc or on the pumps on also, you hafto tap into a pink wire under the fuse box(use a mulitmeter tool to find wich wire before you strip one, and i recomend soldering it then shrink tube over top. easily done in about an hour if you already have the all parts and tools beforehand. dont forget to get new water pump gaskets, also use a dab of rtv to make the gaskets stick to the waterpump, makes it much easier. you might also hafto cut alil bit off your intake manifold, i had to but it was a very small amount of material to remove(it was a fast job with a dremel sanding bit) .

I'm no mechanic, but I was able to install my EWP last month without any problems! I followed the kick-butt write up for the install on ls1howto.com

I had the same problem, stocker was leaking - and since I had to buy a new pump, I wanted to gain perforamce too.

Tuning? nope.

I am sure you will be pleased. I have the red one and it compliments the red lettering on my FAST intake. Good luck and hope you get a good price on it. My car runs cooler with it then the stock belt driven pump, and don't forget the better gas mileage. Not so much an issue now that premium is down to 230.9 / gal VS 320.9/gal

GM High Tech magazine installed one in a previous issue and picked up some decent power.

its got a long life expectancy, 2000-3000 hours. so pretty much if u drive an hour every day it would last 5 years. Good enough for me plus i am loving the manual override feature already... i cant wait to get this thing installed... now i just gotta learn how to splice, solder, heatshrink, etc, lol

I had no problem with my battery, and I use an Under Drive pully as well.
