Default Electric cutout question

How long does it take for one to open?

Reason I ask is because I have a cutout in my exhaust now, and even with H/C it sounds pretty bad at low RPMs. I was thinking about installing the electric cutout and wiring it to open only at WOT.

Might depend on the brand, think my QTP opened in less than half that.

5 seconds when it was new, seems to take 8 seconds now, but I think it's dragging on the inside of the pipe. It's a McCord from BYUNSpeed.

Definatly a good investment, you can suprise the **** out of people with one.

No kidding. I was playing around with (no actual race) a cammed Z28 the other day and he had a Borla system on it that sounded pretty terrible. While at WOT the exhaust note got really aggressive and sounded nice. I was like WTF The change in sound impressed me. The lack in additional acceleration did not

MY dmh takes 3-4 seconds. You might be able to change the motor to open faster. Sounds like a good idea to me, tell us how you did it when your done.
