Default Electric cutout switch mounting

I just bought a QTP electric cutout, havn't put it on yet and was wondering where everyone mounts their switch. Im thinking in the ashtray or under the dash. Are there any tricks to running the wiring through the car i should know about?? Thanks for your help! Oh its an '02 Z28

well.... on my 99SS i mounted the QTP just before the over the axle... (there is a nice little pocket for it) and right next to it is a rubber grommit under the rear pass. seat.

just run your wire into (cut a small notch) the gromit, into the cab, under the carpet,
under and into the center consol, and i mounted my switch in side the storage compartment., hidden out of the way.... and the SLP fan switch goes perfect in the ash tray!

good luck....

My cutout is under the rear passenger seat, I removed the rubber grommet on the bottom and ran the wire up, took out the lower seat in the back (1 bolt) and the center console out, that way I didn't have to pull much carpet or cut anything and it made it a lot easier

I modified a jimmy jams switch to hold a momentary switch to use in conjunction with my nitrous stuff and still be out of the way

I ran my wires under the rear passanger seat and under the carpet to the center console. I took the light out of the ashtray and modified the light hole so that the cutout switch would fit in it's place, then used the power wires that were going to the light and connected them to the switch.

I drilled a small hole under my lighter socket, and put the switch there. It goes unnoticed until I point it out.

Great idea!!

I have mine installed, but need to wire it. is this a 12v switched or power all the time? Yeah....I know....I can walk out to my car and look but I figured I'd ask first.

Another vote for the vert top switch. There is a diagram around here somewhere showing how to wire it up...but its really simple. I didnt like the QTP switch... It was on my donar car. It just seemed kind of crappy and the LED didnt work anymore. Plus its huge. Maybe they have revised since then???

But I wanted to just use the vert switch because its incognito then. And the vert switch just feels better...not like it wants to break.

Some good ideas though!! I love hiding switches and making things stealth. Its kind of fun.
