I got some kooks, and all i had to do is remove my oil filter, i wouldnt think you have to do any cuting or grinding to make any long tubes fit, not 100% sure tho.

well im going to tell you what i have read since i dont have LT's yet . The pace setters seem to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to the LT's and the SLP's have had lots of fitting issues. from all the reading i have done most of them will slip in without having to jack the motor and transmission. your going to either need a lift to be able to get the front of the car pretty high off the ground. use the search there are alot of howto's floating around on the net with step by step pics and directions. It can take from what i under stand 4- 12 hrs depends on how good you are and the tools you have. one thing to note tho do not rush take your time. I would go with pacesetters if your short on cash they seem to be fairly easy to install from what i can see. Some of the other guys know alot more they will be able to help you out better ohh yeah forgot to add i havent read of any that needed grinding yet but like i said im just telling you what i have been reading im no expert

I'm guessing you're going to get a different opinion from everyone, but for it's worth, my Hooker LTs went in pretty smoothly. I believe we did have to grind a little off of a small protrusion on the block, but it wasn't too difficult.

You're gonna get different answers from everyone. NO LT header install is 100% the same as another, even if it's something really small. My pacesetters were easy, my friend's QTPs non-HVMC (few years back) were easy, those are the only two I have experience with. Good luck.

I have installed 3 sets of pacesetter headers in 3 different F-bodies and all of those installs went perfect. The only other install I have experience with is Kooks 1 7/8 headers. We already had the motor out (did a swap) for those and just needed to knotch the K-member.

Since most of the LS1 header companies have been around for awhile now, I am sure they have fixed most of their past fitament issues.

every car is different... every header is different... just depends on what header brand you want and then adjust accordingly

Kooks slide right in with no problems. I have done a lot of them and never had an issue. Never done another type though.

I have Pacesetters on my SS and they slid right in without any cutting, grinding, notching, slicing, wacking, smacking, or even any flapping. Pacesetters kick ***.

pacesetters hands down, it took me about 3hours for my last set, and I barely had the front wheels off the ground.

Dynatech, had to be the easiest LT install. Car on ramps, unload suspension, that was plenty high. They practicly fell in.

BTW they are stainless and look beautiful.

Pacesetters...bought them used. The hardest part was cutting all the old exhaust out. Those headers just slip right in there. Didnt even take the coil packs out. It probably would have been easier but we did it with them on.

ive got slp's they weren't too bad i just kept making newbie mistakes bc it was my first set of LT's to put in. Overall the proccess was not too bad same as any other header you run into problems so just prepare for it. If i were you i would make sure and get some o2 extensions or get the vette rears, also get some heat wrap for the starter wires and o2 wires for protection around the heat. just my .02

Most LT's that you get are pretty easy to install. I have pacesetters and they went right in after I had to remove the steering column on the drivers side and the dip stick on the passengers side.
