I believe they would cancel eachother out. The air coming from the front would run into the air coming up from the bottom, and I think it would cause turbulence, which is the last thing you want in your intake. The point of lids, bellows and P&P TB is to smooth out the airflow, so more can go in faster, and more power.

anyone have pictures of the SSRA? Tainted, what have you come up with? im afraid of hydrolock, but you mentioned a block off plate. im wondering how somthing like that would work. maby like somthing you can plug the bottom of the scoop up with and take the plug in the lower air box out while its raining, then switch them?

I've said it many times before and it is well worth the money.

I've been running the SSRA for damn near 2 years now and haven't had a single problem with it. As long as you're not an idiot, you shouldn't worry about any problems with hydrolocked. But if you're not careful, then hydrolocking is a very serious issue that could easily occured. But Like I said, I've been running it for a long time now, and being careful in flooded streets pays off.

FYI - I'm running the newer version of the SSRA (lower half only with upper FTRA section) which is made from a much more flexible plastic compared to the original unit that should not crack.

where did you get this. I have the SLP CAI and would be interested in getting the lower half of the SSRA.

I didn't notice any differences when I put the BGRA on my car. They are hard to find, took me a year to find mine.

If thats all you did with no other mods to exhaust and intake than you might not have noticed a difference. Put on h/c and open up the exhaust and you will

I would have to say SSRA2--dyno proven 15 RWHP gain with a small fan blowing against the car's radiator. Check out the link below.

'02 A4 Z28 w/PTB dynoes@298...after SLP lid, dynoes@303...after SSRA2, dynoes@318!

The SSRA2 does not include the long scoop that extends down to the front bumper. Therefore, it will be cheaper than the SSRA. The risk of hydrolock and damage from parking over curbs is very small and none, respectively, with the SSRA2 septup. And since it's plastic, you will have no heat soak issues that a stainless steel version would have. You can get the SSRA direct from Al Austin aka ss1le02. When I bought the SSRA2 from Al Austin in September of 2005, he was selling it for $129 shipped.

Sorry for the confusion guys. All my products are made of plastic.

SSRA= Original Super Sucker Ram Air(two pieces)
SSRA2= Just the top piece(similar to the SLP/FTRA)
Austin scoop= This is just a scoop that slides into the SLP/FTRA. This is for people that already have the FTRA/SLP and want to add the bottom scoop. I used to make these out of aluminum to match the FTRA/SLP. I now make them out of plastic like the SSRA/SSRA2.

Please contact LM Performance. He is a sponsor on here. -------------->
